The era in which we are living is called a technological era. Everything has become intelligent, from pens to laptops, remotes to refrigerators, and lights to air conditioners. Sometimes, it comes to our mind how these things are becoming intelligent.

What is making machines smart? Why are machines nowadays called intelligent machines? What is Artificial Intelligence? Let us find out more about these.

What is an intelligent machine?

An intelligent machine is simply a machine having the power to decide humans. The device itself can’t determine, but a simple machine is programmed so that it becomes intelligent.

How are machines made intelligent?

Machines are becoming smart because of the technique called “Artificial Intelligence.” AI was first observed in 1949. Until late 1950, artificial intelligence needed to be clearly defined.

In 1955, the feedback mechanism of machines made progress in AI. This was presented by Norbert Wiener. He took this term of feedback mechanism from plants.

He stated, “All intelligent behavior is because of the feedback mechanism.”

The feedback mechanism is the machine’s response to every input, which evaluates and changes the output accordingly.

In 1956, finally, John McCarthy presented the actual concept of artificial intelligence at a conference. He is known as the father of AI. Since that day, AI has been used by researchers is still used.

Let us now talk about what Artificial Intelligence is.

What is Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial intelligence is the technique of computers to act like humans. AI makes computers think and learn and become wise, or when machines imitate human behavior, it is called Artificial Intelligence. Artificial intelligence has made our lives easy. There are a lot of applications of AI, like self-driving cars, smart speakers, image recognition, voice recognition, and even games.

Types of Artificial Intelligence

  1. ANI: ANI stands for Artificial narrow intelligence. It is called narrow because it is limited. The limitation is that it is specific. If we take a dataset, it will use that dataset for solving only one problem. Self-driving cars are also an example of narrow artificial intelligence.
  • Here a question comes to mind: self-driving cars have distinct features and perform other tasks than how it is ANI. Reread the definition. It says one dataset and one problem. Self-driving vehicles use more than one dataset for various issues. If it detects traffic signs, it has a separate dataset. It has different datasets for tired eyes.
  • Artificial narrow intelligence is a branch of artificial intelligence.

2. AGI: AGI stands for artificial general intelligence. It is called available because it is unlimited. AGI is a type of artificial intelligence that is known for many problems. It uses one dataset and solves multiple problems. AGI has yet to progress.

Conclusion:

Artificial Intelligence is making our lives much more accessible. We use it at every level, and it has advanced our medical field. Our industry is more productive and much more. We can imagine our futures chilling in our bedrooms and robots doing everything for us.
